Buyer asking for free expedited shipping after placing order

0
0

Buyer sent this message immediately after placing the order.

Reason: Where’s My Stuff ?

Details: please expedite the shipping at no additional cost for the cx

My instinct is to just cancel and not deal with such a customer, because this message to me is reminiscent of the giant snafu from last year (with the a-to-z claims before the delivery date).

What do you guys think? Thank you.

I usually send an e-mail in reply along these lines:

Your order is estimated to be delivered between X and Y based on the shipping speed you requested. If this is not acceptable you may cancel the order before we ship the order.

To cancel the order
https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_gt2_myo_cior?nodeId=201976060

If you want a faster shipping speed you will have to cancel the order and repurchase the item selecting the appropriate shipping speed.

If we do not hear from you by XXXX on dd/mm/yy we will ship the order as placed.

Thank you

It all depends on what your listings define expedited shipping to be and how much wiggle room in your sale price vs cost you have. We use Priority Mail for expedited orders and often can upgrade without hurting our bottom line too much. So in our case we would probably send it Priority Mail. Some media sellers consider Expedited shipping to be an upgrade from MEDIA MAIL to First Class Mail!!! They can often afford to do that upgrade for everyone! Now if the buyer is a repeat offender, such as the “ship faster” {NO INVOICE} drop shippers then I would do as some have suggested and if after notifying them of the actual expected delivery dates which are often much better then what AMAZON shows they do not cancel the order then send out at my usual standard shipping speed but NOT upgrade!

My response is a offer to cancel the order so they can reorder selecting expedited shipping.

Tell her the correct way to order Expedited is to first add the item to her cart, select Expedited Shipping and then 1 click. As a small timer with time on my hands, I would honor her request at a loss of $2.50, using a padded Flat Rate envelope, on the condition that she leaves positive feedback.
