Can I ask a newbie question in here?

Can I ask a newbie question in here? Because it is truly a newbie one! I’ve been selling on amazon for a little over a month now (12 years on ebay) I have my 1st return I need to authorize. They bought an item that is not the right size for them. They state that as their reason. They said they plan on ordering the correct size through me. My question is. Who pays for the return shipping cost? This item wieghs 2 ounces. They paid for expedited shipping and Amazon charged them $7.48 to do that. ( my cost was $5.05 for priority flat rate envelope. I do not see anywhere that spells out that they pay for the return shipping. Do I eat the cost? I don’t need for them to ship it back expedited either…. the 1st class postage would be $2.04. I watched a 2 minute video on managing returns , but, it didn’t explain who pays for the return shipping if the item is broken or not as described. I am going to assume that I pay for it?? Before I click that AUTHORIZE button, I wanted to know if I have any options….

You will have the option to send them a prepaid label or have amazon send them a label where they can pay to return it. Up to you. My personal rule of thumb for returns is: if there was a problem with the item, I pay to have them return it. If they choose to return it for their own reasons, they pay. But that part is really up to you.

I don’t ever pay for them to return it- unless it was blatantly my mess up.

I mean- Walmart doesn’t reimburse you the gas in your car to bring a wrong size back right?
