Any long time sellers out there know if it’s possible to change all active items’ release date so items will go to pre-order as opposed to putting on vacation mode?
I will be gone all next week and if possible would still like to get pre-orders to ship the day I return as opposed to making all of my listings inactive. I will be checking emails while I’m gone.
If this is possible do I have to do them individually, or is there a way to do them all at once with one release date?
Release dates are set by the manufacturer, not a reseller. Also, you will find it difficult to convince Amazon to modify or set a future release date on products that have already been sold previously.
Regardless, they would have be set individually — there is no global setting as products are not grouped like listings in your seller account. Even if you were able to get them changed, if your a regular 3rd party seller, your offers will just say suppressed until the release date — no pre-orders are available to us regular 3rd party sellers.
However, if you have a standard 1 – 2 day handling time (production time) on your listings, then orders placed on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, would not have a ship by date until Monday anyway.
It would be best to initiate vacation mode now, ship any outstanding orders you currently have today, and then on Wednesday, turn off vacation mode and when you get back on Monday, fulfill all the orders received.
As far as I am aware, you can only have pre-order and release date on new products if you are Amazon 1p vendor. As 3p seller on SC you don’t have that option. You can list your items and set longer handling time, however at this time of the year when everyone is expecting their orders ASAP you may run into upset customers.
