Do you need a freight forwarding vendor like Flexport when you’re shipping less than 150lbs to your own house for final packaging (via Air Express), or can you simply have an account with DHL and work with your supplier to have DHL pick it up from the factory?
Sea shipping runs a lot better price per pound, but you run into a lot of other fees that make it not worth it for small shipments.
Generally, your supplier will get you a better price for dhl, ups, fedex because of the volume they do.
A lot of times the suppliers use freight forwarders, who have very good rates due to the extremely high volume they do, and can pass some savings onto you.
