Hi All – I’ve just ordered samples of my product from 2 suppliers – 10 from each – to get a feel for the relationship with different suppliers, as well as their product quality.

These are unbranded. My question is: is it worth trying to sell these samples on Amazon before I place my full order? Clearly, it has problems: if it sells, I’ll run out of inventory; they’re not branded; etc. But if it does sell, it’d give me confidence to place the main order.

What do you think? Sell the samples, or wait until full order is in place? thank you!

The only problem is that you cannot fully get the most out of the listing as it isn’t easy selling something when you only have 10 available. It would be impossible to do any good incentive marketing in order to gain reviews to help spur organic sales, so you’d really have to convince people to purchase by your sales copy alone, and even with that, you would be at zero reviews, and also have a low BSR…so you might get turned off on a good product because of some of these things…but this could be a good idea to test some things out here/there..I think it would work better when you are already selling a complementary item and want to test out other items that are similar to that. For example if you were selling kitchen utensils and wanted to sell another type of utensil or something like that.
