Hi I'm looking to get my first shipment sent by sea. I don't have the weight of the shipment yet, so can't work out the exact price. Is their a way I can work it out roughly, say 1kg = £?. Also my product contains a non flammable natural gas will I need a

Hi I’m looking to get my first shipment sent by sea. I don’t have the weight of the shipment yet, so can’t work out the exact price. Is their a way I can work it out roughly, say 1kg = £?. Also my product contains a non flammable natural gas will I need any sort of hazmat forms for getting the product into the UK, I’m really struggling to find any info in this area!!

Trading standards are a nightmare to be honest. But once you can get in touch with someone they have all the forms and info u will need about importing.

Haven’t shipped my products by sea – but I have moved countries several times! Think sea cargo is usually priced by size / amount not weight… And $350 is well expensive – just brought 30kgs in for $250…

Have you asked the manufacturer for a quote for sea freight? It would be a starting point.
