I am putting together another variation of an existing listing.
I am currently offering a pack of 6, and I want to add a pack of 12.
I do know how to create multiple item variations from scratch, but I am not able to do it to an already live listing.
CS has been advising me how to do it from flat file upload. I can’t make heads or tails of those files. My skills there are minimal.
I want to use the same pictures for the 12 pack as the 6 pack, which only shows one of the items. They are telling me I need another image, and that packs need to show how many items are in the pack,
I am not sure this is correct. I see multiple item packs showing only one of the items in the pack all over Amazon listings.
So…1. .Are the correct about the image requirement, and 2. has anyone added a variation to an existing listing??

Here is how you add to existing listing – this assumes you know how to fill out a flat file.

Create the flat file like you are creating a new listing with variation. The first line will be the parent ASIN, use the ASIN in the product ID field and type the the type as ASIN (there is no ASIN in the drop down), use an existing parent SKU for the SKU or you can use a new one, make this a partial update. Put your new variation in the second line and fill out all the appropriate info (this will be a new item in the parent). Make this update, and fill out all the appropriate parent/child cells and accompanying variations. You could do as many of this kind of line that you wanted. On the last line use an existing child for the parent ASIN (they call this the an anchor ASIN, without using it, the new listing will not be in the parent listing), in this case you would use the 6 pack that already exists. Use this child existing SKU in the SKU cell and the child existing ASIN in the product id field (again type in ASIN in the type field), then make it partial update. Fill out all the appropriate parent/child cells like the new pack. Everything else can be left blank even though if may say you are missing information.

I strongly recommend that your photos match the number of items in the listing. Customers frequently get confused when they don’t match, leading to lots of returns and very bad reviews.
