With shipments to Brazil, I pack the item for shipment and instead of actually shipping it, I throw it in a trash can. Usually the same result as if I had actually shipped it.
Just kidding of course, but I had such a high delivery problem rate on shipments to Brazil (other than Express) I blocked Brazil (and all of South America). A few lost sales but fewer headaches
If their order was paid with a credit card, they can file an AtoZ claim up to 180 days. But if you shipped directly through Amazon, they will have record of the customs number and can verify that you shipped it. Brazil is a very difficult country to get shipments delivered…You need to go through the list and remove many countries that you are willing to ship to…let Amazon ship to them if they want with FBA…but it will relieve a lot of stress if you cut out a lot of international shipping
I ship to Brazil several times per year. If the sale is through Amazon there is always a problem, usually because it takes longer than the customer thinks it should. If the sale is through my web site and I ship it, it gets there in a timely manner and there is no problem.
