Is it acceptable to ship a package without tracking?

Selling a cheap item and want to ship the item with a regular stamp in a plain white envelope. I understand I will assume all risk by doing so but is this practice within Amazon guidelines. Thanks in advance for your responses

If the item is under $10 and you apply for a tracking exemption for that particular ASIN before you sell it.

You will be trading time for money.

If your product plus shipping is less than $10 it is allowed. You do not need to apply for the ASIN to be exempt, if there is an issue you email Seller Support and they will look at your previous sales and see that they are under $10 and do not require tracking. We do it all the time as we sell trading cards, and we ship out anything $9.99 and under without tracking and $10 and above with tracking. We were sent a notification from Seller Performance, sent in an email and marked as Urgent, and they input it into your account. It will still show you having under 95% Valid Tracking, but will not dock you as in the true calculation you cannot see it will be removing all Sales under $10 we were told by Seller Performance. Our account shows a %50-70 at all times but have not received any issues as they will put it into your account that you sell under $10 products without tracking and if you have no issues with the customers your in the clear.

It is only if you have the product exempt from the tracking requirements. Amazon requires all items to be shipped with tracking and sellers need to make sure that 95% or more of their orders are shipped this way.

However, Amazon does allow a seller to have certain products be exempt from this tracking requirement to ensure you do not find your account suspended for not meeting the 95% threshold.

Amazon recommends opening a Case with Seller Support and share the information regarding what you are shipping (list of ASINS) and advise them that it should qualify for the small item exemption. Seller Support will then share the information you provide in your case with the appropriate team so they can review your case.

Amazon will add these ASINs to the exclusion list so that future sales of them will not negatively impact your tracking metric. You do not want to fall below 95% and find your account suspended because your not meeting minimum tracking expectations because your shipping eligible exempt products that were not reported to Amazon to exclude.

This time of year, you can ship Reindeer Post and track movement via the North Pole website! ;)
