The negative vibe of this page is frankly exhausting. You have a business channel through Amazon yet you trash them like they are the enemy. If you feel this way why are you doing it? I’m not being a smart ass, I’m being dead serious.
First, there are no consequences to this metric right now, so take a breath.
Second, the target rate is 25%. Do more than 1/4 of the buyers who contact you via the messaging system leave the interaction dissatisfied? They shouldn’t. If they do, the problem is not on Amazon’s end.
Third, at this point, it’s just a way to gauge how well you’re satisfying the various concerns of buyers. I’m sure you’re already interested in this, since you don’t want returns, bad feedback, or A-Z claims, so really nothing should change.
I’ll just say it’s not easy. But don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Success isn’t an accident. If it was easy everyone would do it. As a general rule I’m a very positive person, even the frustrations Amazon gives me can cause far too much stress that I don’t need. However it allows me to not work a real job and do what I love. So I’m very grateful.
In my experience. Do a a mix of merchant fulfilled and FBA. If you do it right and have everything in stock; ship fast you’ll never have an issue. When you depend on suppliers no matter how good. And fudge things to make a few extra bucks it bites you. Yes. I’ve been banned for trying to stretch stuff too much. Yes I got back on. I never look at my metrics I do the best job I can do and if that’s not enough then I’ll close up shop and do something else. Watching metrics like a new TV show will drive you crazy. Focus on what’s important; shipping product and finding new product. Everything will work out.
