Oh, and the other significant complaint I have on Amazon is the old platform and new platform. Our store is on the ”old” platform, and Amazon does not have a migration tool that will facilitate migrating to the new platform (which allows more control over shipping rates). They have told me that the only way to move to the new platform is to close the store, open a new account and then have to go through the Brand Registry all over again. And of course, then its re-doing all of those listings. ONE WOULD THINK THEY SHOULD BE ADVANCED ENOUGH TO HAVE A MIGRATION TOOL TO IMPLEMENT THIS.
And it won’t be the last trust me on that. I have seen a lot of conflicting info on that topic, but the advise is pretty clear. Open a new account, inform the via Seller Support and close down the old one within 90 days. Don’t add new inventory to the old account though, focus on the new one
I had an old account and had it merged to the new account. I didn’t lose anything. Didn’t lose daily payouts. Didn’t lose feedback, didn’t lose anything. Somebody (at SC) doesn’t know what they are talking about. (Ask about “the migration tool.” Maybe that will help.)
If you have an established old account, and want to migrate to the new account, they usually don’t put you through the wringer again. From experience I know that those 2 account forms do NOT correspond with each other so the unfortunate is you have to open a new merchant account. Main thing that sucks is your rating that you will lose. There is no migration tool or similar. It sucks but it is what it is.
