Question for all the experienced AZ sellers. I am considering doing some merchant fulfilled items for seasonal items for Valentine’s Day and Easter, since there is such a lag in getting items sent into the warehouse. For example, If have an item that I have sent in to the warehouse, that sells out, I can merchant fulfill that item, since many times, I don’t have time to send more in to the warehouse. My question is, does shipping pretty much work the same way as eBay as far as printing off a label? Also, how do I set a price for shipping for merchant for filled? Or is that pretty much done for you? One last question, does the shipping cost have to be paid out of my pocket, or does it come out of my seller’s account? Thanks in advance for your answers. I have never sold anything merchant fulfilled on Amazon before, but I sell on eBay, so I am familiar with how the process works, if it’s similar.

If you go through amazon and click buy shipping, it comes out of your account balance and works in the same way as just about any other venue. There isn’t anything unique or scary about the process, you will do just fine!

Shipping varies between accounts, it depends partly on when you signed up for amazon. You will need to dig around in your account settings for shipping options, or go ahead and make a MF listing to see what amazon selects as your default shipping price.

The labels are essentially the same, without the ‘shipping information’ on the other side of the sheet like ebay does. Only the label is printed. You get the same discounted shipping rates that ebay gives, only amazon charges you an extra 7 cents for every label you print.
