Question for the air shipment experts

Question for the air shipment experts: One of our PL products is quite light but takes up some space and for air shipment we are getting charged quite heavily for dimensional weight. I’m looking for an online calculator or spreadsheet where I can put in the dimensions and weight of 1 of our products and then be able to get some suggestion on how best to pack them in boxes to avoid the dimensional weight overage. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance!

Hey Mrshall, maybe I can help . Just know this. For any shipments, be it air or sea, they will take the weight of the product based on either volumetric weight or actual weight; whichever weight is greater.

To calaculate the volumteric weight, you need to know the cbm the divide by 6000.

I do not know of any such spredsheet .. .but, if your items are bulky ..would suggest that u send via LCL sea freight …and if the weight is too small…then you may want to conisder via courier … as courier up to a certain weight break is not worth it… thats’ where you need to ship via air freight …. hope this info helps…cheers
