How would you handle an item that was returned with parts missing and can not be re-sold as NEW? The parts are small but definitely will cause problem if I tried to sell the item as NEW. Will have to sell as USED on eBay.

Would you refund less? Would you tell the buyer that you can not refund at all? Would you issue full refund anyway?

Take nice, clear photos, and don’t abuse it at all. Some ex-ebay sellers are filing cases for tiny dings in a cardboard box. If your % of claims against returns is small, most likely they will reimburse you. They don’t have to but they might. We haven’t lost one of these yet, but we reserve it for egregious returns. Stuff thats trashed and obvious. Items with small parts are always a PIA. People buy your item, steal the parts, and return it *defective*. Like plumbing fixtures at Lowes. Steal a custom washer because they lost the last one they had from before. They weigh each item out to 8 places before its packed to ship out. They also weigh each item thats returned out to 8 places. If anything is missing, it’ll show up in the scale results unless the thief is real good.

Shouldn’t unless the buyer files against you. In that case, show pictures. Represent your case briefly but to the point.
