So I’m new to Amazon Selling and hope you can give me some much needed advice! I have a Cuddle Toy Product Idea and finally found a Company that will produce my design. It will be a High Quality Item and I’m trying to find out if there is something like a magic line for pricing. In your experience, do people tend to by something up to a certain price but than not once it goes over? I’m back and forth if I should do 129$ or 149$… Or maybe once the price point is this high it won’t matter? Is anyone selling something similar at this price point and could give me advice on what to expect in terms of sales numbers?

You may have to experiment. I think I would start with doubling a similar item but doesn’t have the quality you believe your item has.

For an unknown, unadvertised plush toy, your price is too high. Maybe you should start with a smaller toy in the $10-$20 dollar range; simplify whatever feature it was that was driving up your price point. If it’s a runaway success, then you can use that success to push forward with your more ambitious design; maybe get an investor on board, or take it to a toy company that already does mass distribution and will be able to bring your price point down through economy of scale. A $150 plush toy had better be giant size, or be able to talk and tell stories and interact with a child, or have some miraculous feature never seen before

If it is intended for children, make sure you are familiar with CPSIA regulations

Cuddle toys are not my niche, but that seems like an awfully high price point for amazon customers. I would assume you have done the research and found similarly priced items on Amazon? If so, that could answer your original question.
