Why when I create a new item to sell on Amazon do they rotate the picture? The picture is correct when I hit publish and when I go look at it later, the picture has rotated a quarter turn.

I had this problem once with a picture I got from somewhere other than my usual source. I had to convert the image to PNG, then back to JPG to get rid rid of what was making it display wrong.

I see the same all the time when I post photos with reviews on Facebook. It turns it 90degrees. Never spent enough time to fix it

It looks extremely amateurish when it’s done on Amazon, and I get really mad when I go back to an ASIN that I’m selling and discover than another seller has uploaded a sideways picture.

I think the problem is about EXIF metadata. Exif metadata are use to know the rotation of your phone when you take a picture. You can try to erase this Metadata before sending them to Amazon. Be aware that default windows image viewer dont use Exif metadata, but you can open with Gimp and you will see if the picture is correct. I think you can try this link to remove Exif metadata: http://www.makeuseof.com/…/3-ways-to-remove-exif…/
