Can anyone please clarify?

HI everyone, I’m new here. I have been selling successfully on Etsy for a few years already and I thought instead of reinventing the wheel in search of a brand new product, I’d try to offer a few of my existing, well selling products on Amazon first just to get a feel for things. I’m already confused. There is only 1 other person on Amazon selling my product. I want to compete with them obviously and my product photography is much better that would cause my product to stand out against theirs. I tried to list my product tonight but it says I’m not allowed to list my pictures because the ASIN already exists for this item? How can you create/market/sell your own brand, if Amazon doesn’t allow you to upload your own product photography? This is really confusing to me. On Etsy, I have helped build my brand by having product photography that stands out from my competition. The amazon help files said creating a duplicate product is prohibited. Can anyone please clarify?
