Yes – here’s why: https://help.cbp.gov/…/importers—social-security…

Importers – Social security number / Tax Identification Number / IRS Number / Importer Number…

Why is an overseas supplier requesting my social security number (SSN), tax identification number (EIN), importer or IRS number?

You shouldn’t be sending from China to FBA for a multitude of reasons. I’ve helped several people get their accounts reinstated AFTER they made these mistakes as one reason is that all too often your supplier will lie to you about how they’ll package your goods or it’ll ship poorly or just not arrive as expected–so having someone stateside inspect things and/or prep them first is crucial.

So how are people getting their shipments properly labeled and reshipped? That’s going to raise the cost immensely. Are most just doing it themselves? If selling thousands of items per month, that would get to be a full-time job.

Guy – using a fulfillment service just to get it to FBA? I see that Amazon has a labeling service for their FBA program, but charge 0.20 per item to do so…and the shipment packaging/labeling still has to conform to their rules.

People use companies like ours: fbaimporter.comfor more info! We have the lowest rates for any competitor out there and also will price match if someone can prove we don’t, although I know we do! We are also implementing new machinery soon to expedite orders even faster so we can get stuff out within 24 hours instead of 48-72 which is pretty common for the industry overall.
