Shout out to a fellow seller for this help. Now this is me paying it forward.

How to find an Amazon order ID from an Amazon reviewer profile:

NOTE: this only works for “Verified Purchase” reviews:

1. When you click on a reviewer’s name (above their review), you’ll see a character string that begins with the letter A in the URL. For the reviewer below (I’m using one of the top reviewers for my example), the customer ID is ALYZJ7W14YS26. You’re going to want to copy this to the clipboard.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/ALYZJ7W14YS26/

2. Next, go to Seller Central > Orders > Manage Orders. We’ll need to do some filtering to make the matching process less painful. Click on “Advanced Search”, enter the SKU for which the review was left, and change the date range to “ordered in the last 365 Days.” Click on Search.

3. By default the search results will display 15 orders. We’re going to want to increase this to 100 (on the bottom of the page), again, to make this process go a little faster. Now comes the fun part…

4. Right click on the white space next to any order on the page, and select Inspect or Inspect element depending on which browser you use. Hit Command/Ctrl F to use the Find feature on this inspect window. Now paste the customer ID from step 1. If the order that’s connected to the review is on this first page (most recent 100 orders), you will see 1 out of 1 in the “find results” and the order ID (and customer info) that corresponds to it will appear a few lines above the customer ID.

If the order is not on this page you will have to click “next” back on the Manage Orders search results to see the next 100 orders and repeat the process above.

This can get tedious, especially when someone reviews a product they ordered a while ago. But… it is 100% effective at matching the verified purchase reviewer to their orderÂ đŸ˜‰

WISH LIST TRICK:

Click on the reviewer profile. Even if their profile doesn’t have a real name, like “Amazon Customer”, if they have a public wish list, click on that it will show you their real name 90% of the time, such as “Jane Doe’s Wish List”.

MORE:
(As an addition to what I just wrote) To see if your customer (reviewer) already submitted a product review…

On the order details page > copy link location of the “Contact Buyer” URL

https: //sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/contact/contact.html?orderID=910-6052260-3881488&buyerID= ALYZJ7W14YS26 &marketplaceID=ABCDEVXYZR

Copy the buyerID#:

This sounds super cool, but I’m not getting any hits when I search for the customer ID in the “inspect” window. Any idea why that would be? I tried with a couple of different Verified Purchase customers, and I’m using Chrome.

did you make sure you have the possible order on the page. Advanced filter by SKU, orders last 365 days, 100 results per page. Check all pages.

pretty sure, but I must have done something wrong. I’ll try again today, just don’t see what I could have missed ? I’m hoping to get in touch with this 2 star reviewer soon.

Hi everyone,

I’ve just created a tool to help you automatically match reviews to orders. It’s a Chrome extension that you can find here:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/shopswain-amz-reviewer-fi/opeiecdnpgdmonckglnlkgelmicjohei?hl=en-US

It’s free for now, so let me know if you have any feedback.
