I am outside USA(in Morocco) and i want to start an Amazon business. My plan is to import products from China and send them to Amazon FBA. I would like some help for administrative stuff.
Can someone tell me how does it go for custom clearance of goods in USA when importing from China?
use Erin@fbashipping.com She works for Forest shipping and dors all from checking that the shipment complies to FBA rules, customs etc and charges $4,80 per kg for flying in shpments. Please note that the metric volume on a shipment is always bit more than real weight so they add a couple of kg’s. Used them with no hassle to FBA warehouse. Also tweak your account as to ship all to one warehouse as it saves a lot!
An Importer of Record (IOR) is required for merchandise entering the United States. Amazon, including our fulfillment centers, will not act as an IOR for any shipment of FBA inventory. This applies to shipments of any size or value, regardless of origin and product. You may not leave this field blank; this may result in the shipment being refused and returned.
You will need to contact a company in the US who can act on your behalf to receive the shipment and pay the taxes and duties on it. That company would then forward the shipment to Amazon. It can be all done en route by a skilled import & export broker.
I feel obligated to warn you that there’s a million things that can go wrong. I do not know if any US based import/export broker would be willing to assume the level of risk you are thinking about taking with this business model. Not to mention it’s going to be costly to operate like this.
I import containers of silk flowers from China.
