Insurance, specifically shipping insurance.
I don’t see a huge amount of discussion about folk taking this out when shipping product from China to the US.
I can understand when your just test the water and sending a few hundred dollars worth (no disrespect, I intend to try this later). When your shipping several thousand dollars worth, surely it’s prudent to take out damage / loss type insurance, just as a precaution or am I missing something / being overly cautious?
I don’t recall seeing many if any posts relating to issue in this area..
Thanks for sharing any thoughts / personal experiences ?
Mirel personally I cannot afford to loose $2500 worth of product or for it to be damaged and not replaced not out of my pocket. I think personally you are taking a risk but if you can afford it that’s an everyone’s own call.
To me it can be that you have many many successful shipments but still doesn’t mean something cannot happen.
For me it’s risk (and stress) mitigation. I sleep better at night knowing I’ve been prudent doing my due diligence as best as possible.
Hope it all goes well.
I agree. Absolutely insurance is important. I have been importing for over 35 years and ALWAYS take out insurance on my shipments. Even with the years of experience, lot can happen. I see it all the time. If you are shipping a few hundred dollars then I would weigh the costs but in the case of thousands of dollars – insurance is a no brainer.
