I cannot stop thinking that maybe I have entered a very tough niche/chosen a wrong product to launch my self on Amazon. So I decided to do a retrospective analysis of this product (I did not have the knowledge and tools I have now 2 months ago). Here is my reading:

POSITIVE: 1) high number of sales per month (PM). In the TOP-20 sellers, they average 930 sales each. 2) TOP-20 sellers average 8,250 USD PM. 2% of the est. revenue PM (if I can manage of course) is 3,300 USD.
4 sellers are within the Top 2000 BSR, 11 are within the TOP 5000. Also, 9 sellers have less than 100 reviews.

NEGATIVE: there are sellers with huge numbers of reviews.

Any opinions please?

i had a similar thing happen. I inadvertently went into a very competative niche for my first product. However i dont regret it, i learned alot and i think it has turned out ok. Im making sales. Like you i started with 100 of the product but also launched 100 of a bundled version of it. Then i ordered 200 more a couple months in. What i did to battle the competition was to make a great sales copy with professional photos. In my niche the top competitors didnt have the greatest pics so i capitalized on that. My packaging from the manufacturer was nice. Got a really nice logo, professional photos, and sales copy writing help all from fivver for cheap. I also made sure to get 30 or 40 really good reviews. My review average is almost 5 stars for both the bundle and single product. All these elements make my product look high quality and expensive..so i marketed it that way and hiked the price above all my competitors. Amazingly enough people are buying it even though its marked way higher than other cheaper versions. I am not selling tons of it, but i am making sales enough to make a pure profit between $300 and $600 a month since August when i launched.
P.s. i use ppc on and off. I mostly try to get a few reviews here and there on a regular basis and that seems to help sales.
