I’ve chosen my product, and now crafting a message to potential suppliers. This is my first rodeo.
I have a PL name chosen, and a rough idea of what the package design could look like. I have and idea of color scheme, and what I’d like the logo to look like. The main supplier I’m eyeing states they have a design team.
I’m pretty flexible on what it looks like, and feel pressed on time to get this going, because my niche seems to be in its infancy, with huge demand. I’m sure I can tweak package design details as I go.
- How do most of you go about explaining/figuring out the package design/logo for your product, and conveying it to the supplier? I assume some have the logo and design created, then send a photo to the supplier.
- Do you ask for the samples to be sent out with the PL package designs on them? Ideally, I’d have the supplier send me a few different design examples, but unsure if this is commonplace.
Thanks for any input!!
1) Use 99 Designs to create your logo and packaging. I would not have a Chinese manufacturer design my packaging if you want to be taken seriously. They do not work well with “rough ideas”. Then you hand the AI files to the manufacturer and they’ll send you the final sample.
