2 Accounts, 1 IP Address
I have read about the fear and heard horror stories about people getting shut down due to 2 accounts 1 up address. People are so concerned that they do not even let other people on their network to check their seller accounts or check them when in a public Wi-Fi.
I myself fall in that concerned camp so I wrote SC and this was their response below. Does anyone trust this?
It should be noted that Amazon understands travel and visiting. To hit their radar, one needs to be using the same ip for a time. If you’re at a resellers’ convention and sharing the hotel wifi with other sellers, Amazon won’t even blink. Use a library computer over a period of time and their’s another seller using the same computer over a period of time, and Amazon will notice. If you’re in a situation where you think you might be at risk, contact Amazon and explain before a problem arises. If they know there are two people in a family using the same computer to run two separate accounts, they can approve your situation.
the truth and facts in having 2 account’s on 1 ip or even a friend logging into their account is that they are all compromised.
In the instance any one of them is suspended or shut down (and one will be at some time) or related to one’s that are, they will all be suspended. Fact.
Does not mean you’ll be suspended, but odds are higher now if another one is.
If one truly has 2 different professional businesses and needs 2 different accounts, it’d make sense that they were actually on two different computers and/or locations, etc. A cousin owns 11 Jimmy Johns, they all have their own ip, Internet, location, etc. A friend owns 7 private label/e-commerce companies, each has their own separate Internet, computer, website, name, hr, brand, and they share some resources, but each is unique & separate but ALL owned by one person.
