Hello,

Sorry for the long post, I just received my EIN #, I thought that was the only requirement in regards to taxation, it turned out the tax is done by state and each state has different rules and you must register with each one separately and charge the customer based on their state then pay it back, you have to set the rate yourself or use a third party software, there are more requirements but I cannot list them here.

Is everybody aware of these requirements and implementing them? all the courses talk about getting the product and selling it but when it comes to state by state tax, nobody talks about it on a high level or warn you, not sure if I am missing something but when I looked online I found out that this was the biggest issue that FBA sellers are facing, how is everyone dealing with it?

I am just shocked by my findings, for example you have to know where your stuff is stored because the tax is based on your inventory location and the buyers location

Not looking for a legal advice but this is a nightmare, at least to me

Many fba sellers pay the taxes in states where amazon fulfillment centers are located , it is called nexus. And if you are pro seller amazon will collect the tax for you. Yes it is frustrating that no guru is talking about it but my guess is they don’t want to be responsible for giving legal advise.
