I am running into an Amazon issue this week. I am trying to register my brands with Amazon and I have been approved several times only to be later told that my account isn’t the ‘new’ version of a seller account and therefore cannot use brand registry. They then offer to upgrade me and nothing happens. I called Amazon and they said that brand registry can only be contacted by email and they have no idea what the ‘new’ seller account is. I was told I’d receive and email invite to this new seller account within 7 days by the brand registry team via email. This is very frustrating and I’ve been going through this for a solid week now.
My question to you guys is – is brand registry a new thing they are allowing sellers? Were you told your account would need to be migrated to a ‘new’ account to use it? Are there any other features available to these ‘new’ accounts? Why is Amazon support so incompetent?
Never heard of the ‘new’ seller account, and that doesn’t sound like the way Amazon operates anyway. If there was a new feature, they would just roll out to all accounts at the same time. How much did it cost you to ‘upgrade’, and did you do this over the phone?
There is no cost to upgrade and they said it is currently by invite only (after already giving them permission to upgrade my account). I’ve been communicating with them primarily through the case log in my seller account and called this morning when I was fed up – which led no where.
Have you had your account a long time? I have the “old” account. I can request payment at any time, but can’t offer free shipping. They are always asking me to upgrade to the new account, but I’d lose the ability to get daily or weekly payments from them.
