Is there a minimum weight/size that makes ocean shipping viable? I have contacted 6 freight forwarding companies and no one has gotten back to me….so I decided to contact UPS and they are telling me there is a 500lb minimum. I’m wondering if I’d be better off shipping Air. My shipment is 380 lbs and 1.6 CBM in size.

mine has no minimum but at some point it might be so small that the diff between air and ship might not be that big enough to make a difference.

There is no minimum, just if the volume is very small, it is not worth to do the sea shipment directlyt to Amazon warehouse. UPS is much easier to manage and quicker. If you have questions, you could ask us for help.smile emoticon

Considering that there have been no ships moving for several days, trucking and trains are down, air freight might be a better option to consider but I’m not a seller. Best of luck with whatever you decide.
