I got a message about a technical glitch on Amazon early last week. About 90% of what I sell is music in the form of CD’s and Vinyl Albums. The glitch was in the music category and effected every listing that I have up in that catagory. Which is a little over 5,000 items. I called seller support on Thanksgiving, Twice on Friday, Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Finally receiving an email response on Sunday afternoon with how to fix the problem by going through each individual inactive listing. Since my inactive listings number more than 75,000 that was obviously not an option for one person to correct. I spoke with JD on Monday who told me how to fix the problem in bulk assuming I had Excel on my computer. Which I did not. After paying for Excel and adding it to my computer I found that fix did not work. I spoke with Shandle from Tech. support on Tuesday and was told another way to fix the problem. I’d have to run an inventory via upload and that this upload could take 24 hours to complete. It completed and now has run three additional uploads that have now been running for 2 and one half days and are still not complete. I spoke with seller support this morning and they politely refused to transfer me to tech support. I then ask for a supervisor. They told me someone would call me back and it has now been 8 hours of waiting for that call.
Since this is the holiday season and I am losing money hand over fist, I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. It has now been nine days that my listing have been inactive. What am I to do?
Depending on how you keep track of your inventory and on whether or not you use Amazon’s templates to upload inventory in Bulk you might be able to correct the problem by running a Purge and Replace. If you post how you have your inventory tracked on your computer we might be able to provide additional information.
In short, unless you’ve been lucky you are SCREWED!!!
Yes, they did GRANDFATHER in sellers before Nov 1,2016…
If you had any issues with something saying you are selling something that MIGHT be a “counterfeit” or some other issue like this, even a single issue with on ASIN will get you locked up.
So if are selling 10,000 CDS and they get a report about any one of them, you are just SCREWED.
The Real fun is that they tell you you’ll have to “Reply” to the category..
a.) They have no process in place to “Re-apply” at this time
b.) Give no Time Frame as to when they will
c.) All I was told is that a “Re-apply” button will appear on my inventory page when it happens..
d.) There is no one at AMAZON who can do anything at this time…
I know more then a few folks who are not feeling the holiday spirit when it comes to AMAZON the moment.
