Hi again
My first PL product has been nanufactured and ready for shipment. After considering verious options i decided to go for the door to door express shipping aranged by my manufacturer which includes clearing customs. It is only 200 units and less than $800 in value. I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this route, please let me know what are the most important factors that i must be careful of and what common errors to avoid.
Secondly, my name should be on the invoice right? The the ship from address is the manufacturer and what other info on the invoice should i pay attention to and ensure it is correct to avoid issues.

Thanks

I am on my 5th-6th shipment door-to-door express. I have had no issues (other than a small invoice for duty from DHL) , my declared values are about $1500-$2000 for each shipment. I went this route primarily so I could see the products first hand and inspect them and also do some special packaging prior to shipping to Amazon.

The invoice had my name on it and arrived quickly. I had no issues or any un-forseen issues to deal with. DHL or other door-to-door express is very reliable and easy. Think I had one shipment UPS air express as well – my suppliers find the best price.

In the future I will do Sea Shipping once I get that figured out.

Express door-to-door is so convenient, but also more expensive.
I also like to have some spare stock on hand at home – “Just In Case”.

Hope This Helps

May i ask what were the dimensions and the price of the express delivery? That would greatly help.
Thanks in advance !

Oh Boy, I would have to look at invoices but I can approximate;

One is about 5 boxes (18″ x 20″) and 22 lbs each and shipping is about $380.

Just did a re-order on that 2 days ago,

Another was 6-7 boxes and about $723 , but weight was a lot as they were stainless steel kitchen utensils. Think about 500-700 pounds or around there.

Weight is a big factor in express shipping. Sea freight is per cubic meter and not as concerned about weight.

May i ask how to calculate how much should i pay for duty? Is it depends on weight or products ? Thanks!

i am based in the UK and have to manage everthing remotely. When i said door to door i meant to the amz warehouse from my supplier. That is why i am asking as to which factors i should take into account to avoid issues. Particularly issues related to customs and duties arising from info on the invoice or any other issue. So should i put my UK mobile on the invoice as contact? And my name on the invoice on contact etc. Do i have to put my UK address somewhere on the invoice? Things like that or any other that i missed out or not know about
