Hi everyone! Thanks for the add.

I am new to PL and am in the process of finding a manufacturer for an item I’m working on and need a little help.

The item I am making will be made of stainless steel however I would like the stainless to be colored as this will be essential to my brand. The item also needs to be food safe and I would like our logo embossed on the item.

My question is should I be looking at manufacturer who work in steel products or manufacturers who manufacturer food safe items?

I also need to start with a low MOQ for testing. Like 100-200. Any idea where to start?

As long as your price is reasonable and you point out the benefits/differences between your product and everyone else’s you’ll be fine.

You’d usually anodize aluminum, not stainless since it’s a very strong metal that’s generally non-reactive. If you use a caustic or acidic bath before painting it won’t delaminate as easily. Super expensive and not recommended. https://m.reddit.com/…/any_idea_how_to_anodize…/
My husband (chemical/manufacturing engineer) recommends using a silicone or plastic “ring” around it.

Start with Alibaba. I hate to be a pessimist but when you want custom orders the manufacturers usually have a large MOQ, its not worth their while to have their employees custom color and emboss 100 – 200 pieces of steel, when they have clients ordering 10,000 – 100,000 at a time. Also If you’re ordering pans, search pans

No problem, also if you want to know if the product will sell you can order 100 – 200 of the generic version, if it sells well then you can go on to buy 1,000 of your colored and embossed version to sell. Here’s an example, these are both made by the same company, but one is PL and the other is generic. You can test the sales on the generic version, and if it sells well then go ahead and differentiate it, add good pics and up the price to cover the costs and make a good profit. Good luck!
