I just recently started selling on .com (about a month ago) and received a question on my product page. However, when I try to answer to that question, I get the following error:
“In order to post you must have made a minimum amount of valid credit or debit card purchases. Prime subscriptions and promotional discounts don’t qualify.”
I am signed in using my seller email address, so I’m not sure why I am getting that. Maybe Amazon is recognising me as a seller for the buying side?
If anyone else has experienced this, please help, and if my interpretation of the questions and answers board is incorrect, kindly correct me!
When you receive an email from Amazon about the question, the link you click through the email overrides this requirement. This is the response I got from seller support below:
“**** If you have received an email that the customer has posted a question then please follow the steps below to respond to the question:
You need to click through the link provided in the solicitation email. If you follow that link it will override the purchase requirement. Solicitation emails are sent to all Sellers for all questions that we determine are appropriate for a Seller to answer. If the Seller found the question by browsing questions on the detail pages of their products there is no way to override the purchase requirement to post an answer. ”
The problem I had that I did not get an email to only one question but succeeded in getting email for the rest and posting an answer worked even though I did not make any purchases. So I think Amazon deemed the question not be “appropriate for me as a seller to answer”?!?!?!?!??! It was a question regarding a product specification!
Guess I just have to live with it now. The only thing concerning me was that the answers that other buyers posted were completely inaccurate!
