I am a UK seller with uk VAT registeration, I want to do FBA in Germany by sending goods to Germany from a non-Eu supplier, can anyone let me know if I need to get VAT registered in Germany? or can use UK vat?
Secondly I am not able to find a CARRIER who can palletiese and send goods to FBA in UK or Germany for full truck loads or LTL, can anyone suggest me a company who can do the same? I have asked different freight forwarders but they do not know about FBA.
If you choose to use FBA with inventory in any country, you will need to register for VAT for that country. You could also use the EFN (European Fulfillment Network) to at least test your sales volume. There is a charge of about EUR 2 for each order that you would need to include in your pricing.
If you use FBA in UK to supply other EU marketplaces, you would only need to register for VAT in the UK.
Regarding carriers, you can check with the large carriers as UPS, FedEx, and DHL will do LTL, but you will get a better deal for others.
You did not make it clear where you ship from. If you are shipping from outside of Europe, you will also need to be prepared to deal with Customs for each import country. That would require additional registration (for a EORI) and a customs broker to receive the shipment on your behalf, clear customs and reship. You should start with logistics companies in the country you are shipping from and look for a customs broker for the country or countries you intent to import into.
The goods come from asia, and the supplier do not know anything about palletising,so I plan to import this in Germany , it will be custom cleared under UK EORI, (i am applying for DE vat also )than I am trying to find a carrier who can palletise as it cannot be palletised by the supplier, and deliver it to the FBA DE,if a carrier is found who can do the customs clearence it will be very good.Doing EFN will cut the margin.I am already in contact with shapiro, but I expect there charges will be quite high
Do you know any other carriers that can manage the fba plus freight clearence ?
