Using UPS for FBA shipments.

After encountering recent problems getting my shipment delivered by MyHermes I was advised on the forum to use the special UPS service as they offer cheaper rates for Amazon users. I was aware of the service but thought it only applied to large shipments, whereas I often only send individual parcels, but apparently I was mistaken on this.
After preparing my latest shipment I clicked on the UPS service but received a message stating I was not registered & therefore not an authorized user. I contacted SS & although I received a reply found it slightly confusing. It stated that I did not need to register to use the service but as they worked for Amazon not UPS they could not offer a solution but suggested I contact UPS directly.
Can anyone please adise as to the procedure required to use this service.
Thank you

It sounds like you’re making it more complicated than it is.

To use UPS, just go through the FBA shipment flow as normal, and when you get to the Prepare Shipment screen, choose to use ‘Amazon’s-discounted Partnered Carrier’ (UPS) instead of another carrier, enter the weight of the box(es), agree to the Ts&Cs, click a button to accept the charges then just print out your labels and stick them on your boxes.

Once you’ve done that, drop off your UPS parcel or get them to collect it from you (https://wwwapps.ups.com/pickup/schedule). You might have to register for a UPS account but this account is completely separate from your Amazon account and it doesn’t take long to do at all. Collections are free btw.

If I’m completely missing something here, let me know (tip: screenshots help).

Its possible if the page doesn’t load correctly that you receive an error message such as not an authorised user
