What is it exactly that qualifies items for a buy box? Is it that the *exact same item* is being sold by multiple sellers? What makes amazon know that all these merchants’ products are all the same, is it in some merchant product registration form?
Is the buy box completely irrelevant for private labeled items?

When you add a product you either search for what you’re selling or you add a new product with a new UPC. If someone happens to select your product when adding their product to sell then you’re now sharing the Buy Box.

But you can someone share your product if it has your custom brand on it.

They don’t share the product, they share the product listing. If they are selling something other than what is detailed in the listing then you can report them after you do a test buy and document everything, etc, etc.

I get that, but let’s say you have a product with your custom brand on it, can a seller share the buy box with you on your own privately branded product. They can copy your brand and share the buy box or buy your product from you and try sell it as well (although that doesn’t seem to make sense to me).
