When importing a product from China, do I have to have the product’s label ready and in product before it arrives in the US?. I mean the label with brand identity, features, bar code plus “Made in China” on it. If not, can I import something that comes in plain boxes and then repackage it in the US?. Will Customs allow it?

Final label can be done in US but for clearing customs you need to have the country of origin (made in china) visible on the products if you can see through the bags or on the bags themselves.

For clearing customs, you only need the paperwork to note that the products are made in China. The products themselves don’t need to have any labeling whatsoever, especially if they’re arriving to you or someone who will prep the products before sending on to the FBA warehouse.

You’ll need made in China for customs. Sometimes you can get away with not having it but if it gets checked then it becomes an issue. You can do the rest of the labeling in US if you want

I asked this because I wanted to ship products in vacumm bags to reduce shipping costs. The problem is that labels get damage. That’s why I wanted to add label in the US. Still not clear to me if final label must be placed before arriving product in the US or not.
