I would like to use Alibaba Express to find a product I can buy in a smaller quantity to sell on Amazon to build some cash. I’ve heard of people going this route in order to build capital. The one question I have is with a smaller inventory it seems like it would be difficult to generate sales on Amazon because u can’t really give your inventory away. Any thoughts/tips/clarification?

you could, you’ll just take a bigger “hit” because your product cost will be higher due to low quantity. However, you may just have to discount your products less, to perhaps still make a slight profit? And keep doing it till you very slowly make profits.

What I’ve suggested to others is put your product costs on a credit card. It’ll allow you to “cash flow” so you dont need to have the $4k on hand. Or, supplement with a CC, meaning, 2k on card, 2k of cash.

Ive heard a lot of FBA “Guru’s” say that they like to test out a product by buying first on Ali Express then listing a few just to see if they sell. on Amazon. In my mind this makes no sense because 1) the products on Ali Express aren’t even that much cheaper than on Amazon, sometimes I’ve found stuff on Ali Express costs more than on amazon and 2) it would be hard to gain sales momentum without giving product away like Dean has already mentioned
