I enrolled for an EIN for our business (outside US) by calling over the IRS hotline couple weeks ago. Got the EIN right there in few minutes.
Today I received this letter in the mail from Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) that says I can enrolled for this service to pay our business’ “federal tax deposit obligation” online.
Here is the question, being a business incorporated outside US do we have the Federal tax deposit obligations?
What does a Federal tax deposit obligation means?
Thanks and sorry for the long post.

That’s pretty much why they want you to have an EIN…pay Uncle Sam his money! And secondarily, post 9-11 to prove who you are (ie not an overseas money launderer financing god knows what activities!)

You dont need to pay US taxes if you dont have nexus or presence in US if you are outside US i think. But i dont know if we need to tax return to US to be exept from tax paying to US?
