So how many people use a freight forwarder? What are the advantages/extra costs? I work 2 minutes from my local airport, so if i just have the goods shipped there via air freight, is the only thing I need to have a customs bond? If so, does anyone know about how much these cost and where to get one?

Curious about this as well. Would like keep costs as low as possible during my initial import.

you’d likely need a customs broker at a minimum, I would suspect. Often FFs do their own customs clearance so you could potentially just ask a FF for just custom clearance service and you collect the shipment yourself.

Just get the air freight company to send straight to your address. They will get it through customs for you, sometimes there’s a fee so just confirm with freight company first.
